El Greco- A painter, Sculptor & architect

El Greco was a great painter, Architect, Sculptor and was counted as a popular Spanish Renaissance. He always signed his paintings in Greek letters with his full name, which was a unique fact. He received a lot of praise throughout his entire life.

An overview on early life (Childhood) to last years

El Greco was born in 1541 in Crete that was a part of the Republic of Venice. His real name was Doménikos Theotokópoulos. He was the master of Spanish painting and was famous for his expressionistic and dramatic style. He traveled to Venice at the age of 26 and completed his master's there. In 1570, he opened a workshop in Rome and executed a series of paintings that created history. When he stayed in Italy, he painted many paintings that enriched with Renaissance & mannerism. Later on, he moved to Spain, Toledo, where he lived until his death. He received multiple rewards during those days for his best-known paintings. We are a famous art shop for his paintings and oil paintings.

 Early life and works

El Greco was from Venice and completed his studies there. He was influenced and learned from Titian, who was the greatest painter of that time. In his earlier days, he completed many paintings starting from being a young man from Candia till being a pupil of Titian; his works reflect the complete touch of the Venetian Renaissance. Some other initial significant paintings are Christ Healing the Blind and Christ Cleansing the Temple

 Middle years

El Greco earned his first commission by Diego de Castilla in Spain, Luis de Castilla's brother, and an intimate friend of El Greco and the executor of Greco's last testament. Later in 1578 Greco’s son Jorge Manuel born from Doña Jerónima de Las Cuevas; hid marriage life was mysterious.

He got so many commission works from the churches and monasteries. He became closers to the leading humanists, scholars Antonio de Covarrubias. In the year 1585, he lived in the late-medieval palace of the Marqués de Villena. The painter- Venetian architect Palladio inspired him a lot, and some of his works reflected his style. His painting "Assumptions of the virgin" marked a new chapter of his life. With his great knowledge of colors, highlighting the effects, he created another masterpiece named Espolio (Disrobing of Christ).

The best thing about EL Greco was his tendency to elongate the human figure. He was the most noticeable handsome painter of that time. His paintings reflect an appealing vibe because of his great brushworks. Some more works of El Greco are Burial of count OrgazA view of ToledoImmaculate Oballe

Later life and works of El Greco

Starting from 1590 until his death, he worked in many prestigious places. He did notable work on the Holy Family with St. Anne and Holy Family with the Magdalen, Agony in the Garden, highly praised by people due to the brilliant colors and clashing contrast. He had a great knowledge of Venetian techniques. Some major works before his death were three altars for the Chapel of San JoséToledo, three paintings for the Colegio de Doña María de Aragon, and many more.

He died on 1614, April 7. Only a few painters produced his work copy. His art was highly individual, which got him widespread popularity. He was counted among one of the modern pantheons of great painters and maintained his legacy after death.
