 Earlier days of August Macke:

August Macke was born on 3rd January 1887 in Germany. He belonged to a middle-class family, possessed the confidence and energy to do something bright in the future. He was interested in painting during his earlier days and spent most of his time in childhood sketching and drawing. He joined an art school & the academy of fine arts in the year of 1906 to 1908. As an artist, his career was only spanned in 8 years. He contributed a lot of good work to the Düsseldorf Theater by designing the costumes and stage.

 Training period of August Macke:

When he joined the art academy, the teaching style did not please him. Therefore he discovered another art school in the same city where he visited every evening for the classes where he learned a great deal and experimented with printmaking and painting techniques. In his earlier days, he went to many places like Belgium, Holland, and Italy in 1906.

In 1908, he went to Paris, where he met several popular artists in the art galleries. He went to this place with Koehler, where he got introduced to Fauvism & cubism. He was greatly influenced by the painters Robert Delaunay and Paul Cezanne. Later in 1911, they made a huge contribution to modern art by publishing Blue Rider Almanac.

Besides these, he studied with the painter Lovis Corinth in Berlin and spent six months. In 1909, he married his old love Elisabeth, whom he met at the age of 16.

The major period of August Macke:

After the year 1910, he and Franz Marc became really good friends and learned a lot from them. He also participated in the Blue Rider Group with Wassily Kandinsky. Macke was not so much interested in the theoretical concept; he experimented a lot during his entire career and created unique styles.

In the earlier days, he chose to paint natural landscapes on the board. He had never been so fascinated by modern life, and most of the paintings are based on harmonious surroundings.

He was fascinated by the power of colors, which made him produced so many art sculptures and designs for embroidery works. He had participated in many exhibitions and received so much appreciation from art lovers.

 Last days & legacy:

Macke's career was short as he died earlier in September 1914 in World War I. He was dedicated to art and produced a series of works considered a masterpiece. Macke's works were considered as part of Fauvism. Macke's works reflect the emotions, reality, and feelings from his deep mind. He was more focused on the Luminist approach. His works represent the mood rather than reproducing the objective reality. His presence for a short time made a big change in the history of art.
